Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. is seeking Occupational Therapists to provide Early Intervention services to infants and toddlers in home and community settings across California.

You will collaborate with families under the Parent Coaching Model, helping caregivers apply strategies to support developmental goals and ensuring progress is documented with regular re-assessments and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• California Occupational Therapy license required.
• Pediatric Early Intervention experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide occupational therapy services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow each child’s IFSP and work with families to develop strategies for developmental goals.
• Use family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and ensure progress generalizes.
• Deliver services in the child’s natural environment, including homes and community settings.
• Perform re-assessments and write progress reports bi-annually.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide occupational therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Occupational Therapy license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
