Job summary

Coastal Orthopedics is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist specializing in Hand Therapy to join our orthopedic rehabilitation team in Bradenton, FL. You will work closely with orthopedic physicians and patients to restore strength, mobility, function, and independence.

Ideal candidates have an active Florida OT license, graduate from an accredited OT program, and experience in hand therapy or upper-extremity rehabilitation. CHT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current Florida Occupational Therapist license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Experience in hand therapy, upper-extremity rehabilitation, or orthopedic outpatient care.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, and communication skills.
• CHT certification or pursuit of CHT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and forearm injuries.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician guidance.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to improve mobility, strength, and function.
• Treat patients following hand surgeries and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Fabricate and modify splints and orthoses as appropriate.
• Educate patients on home exercise programs and injury prevention.
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and care team members.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with standards.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist specializing in Hand Therapy to join our growing orthopedic rehabilitation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist who enjoys working closely with orthopedic physicians and patients while helping individuals regain strength, mobility, function, and independence.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate and treat patients with orthopedic and upper-extremity conditions, including hand, wrist, elbow, and forearm injuries.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, functional goals, and physician recommendations.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and function.
• Treat patients following orthopedic and hand surgeries, injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
• Fabricate and modify custom and/or prefabricated splints and orthoses as appropriate.
• Provide patient education on home exercise programs, precautions, positioning, and injury prevention.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate closely with orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, physician assistants, and other members of the care team.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and practice standards.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while creating a positive experience for every patient.

What We’re Looking For

• Current Florida Occupational Therapist license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Experience in hand therapy, upper-extremity rehabilitation, or orthopedic outpatient care strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working collaboratively in a physician-led orthopedic environment.
• A patient-centered approach with a genuine desire to help patients achieve their goals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to clinical excellence.
• CHT certification or pursuit of CHT certification is a plus.
