Job summary

Select Medical’s outpatient orthopedic center in Lakeland, FL is seeking a PRN Hand Therapist to treat a variety of upper-extremity conditions and support hand surgeons. A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is preferred, but new grads with Level II fieldwork or OT with 1+ year of hand therapy experience are encouraged to apply.

CPR certification and valid state license required; a driver’s license is recommended.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy.
• National registration and state licensure required to start.
• CHT preferred; Level II fieldwork or 1+ year hand therapy experience acceptable.
• CPR certification and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, treat, re-evaluate, discharge and communicate high-quality hand therapy services.
• Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, and contribute to case management.
• Maintain positive relationships with facilities and staff to expand client relations.
• Stay current with OT research and apply evidence-based practice.

Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapist (PRN)

Join our outpatient orthopedic center as a PRN Hand Therapist. CHT preferred, but new grads with Level II fieldwork or OTs with 1+ year of hand therapy experience are encouraged to apply. Treat a variety of upper extremity conditions. Splinting experience a plus. Work alongside skilled hand surgeons and access mentorship for CHT certification.

Pay

$47/hr

• Responsible for the evaluation, plan of care, treatment, re-evaluation, discharge, and appropriate communications of high quality hand therapy services to patients and customers.
• Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and provide quality patient care.
• Maintain positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
• Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy.
• National registration and state licensure or registration REQUIRED to start.
• Newly licensed OT graduates with level 2 fieldwork in hand therapy and Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 1 year current hand therapy
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Valid state driver’s license
