Additional Information About the Role

Are you an Occupational Therapist with acute care experience? BJC is seeking an experienced OT to work with an adult population at Parkland Health Center in Farmington, MO. This is a great opportunity to work in a smaller community with beautiful surroundings. A $2,500 Sign-On Bonus is provided!

Overview

Part of BJC HealthCare, Parkland Health Center offers a combination of world-class medicine and deep local roots, with a history dating back to its predecessor hospitals. It has two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri: a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington and a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre. The center provides primary and secondary inpatient and outpatient services to the community.

Farmington campus offers inpatient, medical-surgical, intensive care, obstetrics, emergency services, and outpatient services including oncology, infusion, wound care, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center. Bonne Terre provides emergency and outpatient services, including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep studies.

Outpatient Therapy provides speech, occupational, and physical therapy services based on physician orders.

Role Purpose

The licensed or registered Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled occupational therapy services, including evaluation and treatment.

Responsibilities

1. Develops treatment plans considering discharge needs, functional status, and equipment requirements.
2. Educates and collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers; makes referrals as needed.
3. Delegates tasks to assistants, techs, and students, ensuring appropriate skill levels.
4. Completes documentation per departmental policies.
5. Provides assessments, reassessments, and consultations for Occupational Therapy services.
