Job summary

The South Dakota Developmental Center is actively seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in Redfield, SD. You will provide occupational therapy services aimed at improving daily living skills and independence for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Must be licensed in SD and NBCOT-registered or eligible. Your work focuses on motor and sensory processing, emotional regulation, and social engagement within client-centered plans and ICf-based settings.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed with the SD State Board as an Occupational Therapist.
• Must be or eligible to be registered with NBCOT.
• Experience in occupational therapy for developmental disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Improve independence, social engagement and quality of life through daily living skills.
• Address motor, sensory processing and emotional regulation in IA/ICF settings.
• Assist with activities of daily living, self-feeding, adaptive equipment and navigation.
• Work to increase social participation and community integration for clients.
• Participate in interdisciplinary review meetings and provide progress reports.
• Perform other work as assigned.
