Job summary

Recover-Care in the United States seeks an Occupational Therapist to perform diagnostic evaluations and develop treatment plans to help patients reach maximum functioning and community participation within their capabilities.

The role involves administering and documenting patient evaluations, coordinating with support staff, and designing individualized therapy programs while emphasizing safety and energy conservation for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for SNF patients.
• Solid problem-solving abilities to complete tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Customer service orientation.
• Ability to communicate professionally with staff, patients, and families.
• Ability to travel as required for the role.
• Ability to use tools for adaptive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Administers and writes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
• Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports.
• Directs the assistance of support staff to achieve patients’ functional goals.
• Administers treatment programs to increase patients' levels of functioning.
• Designs individualized therapy for adult learning-disabled patients.
• Provides prevention therapy to maintain functional skills; instructs patients in energy conservation, joint protection, safety techniques for sensory loss, and transferring and visual field deficits; instructs patients' families in personal care for patients, especially proper transfer techniques to avoid back strain.
• Develops home programs and instructs patients or families in carrying out such programs.
• Participates in patient support groups with other team members.
