Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on their needs and goals.
• Provide occupational therapy services to adult and pediatric patients.
• Implement evidence-based interventions to improve functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in program development and identify opportunities to improve or expand services.
• Provide education and present in-services to fellow therapists and staff as appropriate.
• Assist with the general operation and development of the therapy department.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with state regulations, as needed.

Occupational Therapist Requirements

• Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy education program.
• Must possess or be eligible for occupational therapy licensure in the state of employment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care.
