Job summary

The Hughston Clinic in Nashville's Lebanon, TN home location is seeking an Occupational Therapist - CHT with hand therapy expertise. The role involves evaluating, treating, and managing hand therapy patients under state regulations, including home programs and splint fabrication.

Must have an OT license and CPR/BLS; CHT preferred with 2 years OT experience and splinting/wound care experience. Travel to Stonecrest (Smyrna, TN) as needed; join a team focused on high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational therapy is required.
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred; two years OT experience and splinting/wound care experience preferred.
• Must have current Occupational Therapy license; State Modalities certification preferred; Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plans and administers occupational therapy (OT) treatments for patients referred by qualified physicians.
• Observe and become aware of patient progress; discuss with physician as necessary.
• Record progress notes on a daily basis.
• Instruct patients in home exercise programs and provide written instructions as appropriate.
• Fabricate splints, braces, hand and wrist covers to support hand therapy treatments as required.
• Provide a comfortable, orderly, clean and safe clinic environment.
• Comply with all national and state guidelines as required by law.
• Provide effective and ethical intervention to promote healing and restore function.
• Participates in educational opportunities to maintain licensure and facilitate the highest standard of practice.
• Assign work to and instruct Rehab Aides.
• Communicate progress to patient, physicians and lead therapist as necessary.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational therapy

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred

Current Occupational Therapy license

State Modalities certification preferred

Current BLS certification

Position Title: Occupational Therapist - CHT

POSITION GOAL To perform occupational therapy/hand therapy treatments, evaluations and related services established by state law.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans and administers occupational therapy (OT) treatments for patients referred by qualified physicians.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Essential Functions: Lift and carry 50 pounds, move patients and equipment

Marginal Functions:.Reach for and manipulate equipment and patient, visual acuity, hearing and speaking
