Hughston in Lebanon, TN seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide occupational and hand therapy services. The role includes evaluating patients, planning and administering treatments, and ensuring care compliance with state law.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Occupational Therapy, licensure, and preferred hands-on splinting/wound care experience. Travel to Stonecrest (Smyrna, TN) may be required to support patient care.

Formación

• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred.
• Two years OT experience preferred.
• Splinting and wound care experience preferred.
• Must have current Occupational Therapy license, State Modalities certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Plans and administers OT treatments for patients referred by physicians.
• Observe progress and discuss with physician as necessary.
• Record progress notes daily.
• Instruct patients in home exercise programs and provide written instructions.
• Fabricate splints, braces, hand and wrist covers to support hand therapy.
• Provide a safe, clean clinic environment.
• Comply with national and state guidelines as required by law.
• Provide ethical intervention to promote healing and restore function.
• Participates in educational opportunities to maintain licensure.
• Assign work to Rehab Aides
• Communicate progress to patient, physicians and lead therapist.

Position Title: Occupational Therapist

POSITION GOAL

To perform occupational therapy/hand therapy treatments, evaluations and related services established by state law.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans and administers occupational therapy (OT) treatments for patients referred by qualified physicians.
• Observe and become aware of progress of patient, discuss with physician as necessary.
• Record progress notes on a daily basis.
• Instruct patients in home exercise programs and provide written instructions as appropriate.
• Fabricate splints, braces, hand and wrist covers. Etc…to support hand therapy treatments as required.
• Provide for a comfortable, orderly, clean and safe clinic environment.
• Comply with all national and state guidelines as required by law.
• Provide effective and ethical intervention to promote healing and restore function.
• Participates in educational opportunities to maintain licensure and facilitate the highest standard of practice.
• Assign work to and instruct Rehab Aides
• Communicate progress, both written and verbal to patient, physicians and lead therapist as necessary

• Promote The Hughston Clinic’s role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
• Provides support or relief for other staff as needed.
• Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
• Reflect THC values and is sensitive to THC’s ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities.
• Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation.
• Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Essential Functions: Lift and carry 50 pounds, move patients and equipment
• Marginal Functions:.Reach for and manipulate equipment and patient, visual acuity, hearing and speaking
• Accommodations: Standard hand clinic equipment provided

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred. Two (2) years previous OT experience preferred. Splinting and wound care experience preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational therapy required
• Special Qualifications: Must have current Occupational Therapy license, State Modalities certification preferred. Current BLS certification required
