Job summary

Palm Springs Healthcare Center is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our caring team in Palm Springs, CA. The OTA will provide authorized treatments per established care plans, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and support patient progress toward discharge in collaboration with OT/PT.

We offer a sign-on bonus, PTO, and referral bonuses. New graduates are welcome, and a California license is required to practice as an OTA.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.

Responsibilities

Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.
