Job summary

Santa Monica Healthcare Center in Santa Monica is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to administer treatments and assist in discharge planning within a care-focused team. The role offers a salary range of $85,280–$104,000 and a sign-on bonus, with PRN/on-call duties as part of the schedule.

Applicants should hold an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy and a current California OT Assistant license; one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.
