Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services LLC seeks a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide clinical services to residents under physician orders in a state-licensed facility in Jacksonville, FL. The role includes documenting patient progress and assisting O.T.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician’s orders.
• Reports information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment to the Occupational Therapist.
• Assists Occupational Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatments to ensure safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients.
• Participates in continuing education programs and other learning experiences for professional growth.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information.
• Maintains accurate billing information on a daily basis in accordance with procedures.
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings to relay clinical findings and recommendations to rehab team.
• Attends and participates in family meetings as appropriate.
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility.
• Conducts staff training/education via in-services and consultations.
• Reviews and follows policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Supervises non-professional staff as appropriate.

Job description

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant must have: an Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, a current license in the state, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance within state and federal regulations, related to the environment of treatment.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant:

• Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician’s orders


• Reports information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment to the Occupational Therapist


• Assists Occupational Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients


• Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences


• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information


• Maintains accurate billing information, in accordance with procedures, on a daily basis


• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings, as appropriate, to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team


• Attends and participates in family meetings, as appropriate
