Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for the MUSC Health Chester hospital therapy team. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence after injury or illness.

This hourly, PRN role requires SC OTA licensure and BLS certification before seeing patients, plus a degree from an accredited OTA program. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team is essential.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will:

• Deliver skilled occupational therapy interventions to patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or other medical conditions

PRN Status Clause:

This is a PRN as‑needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi‑weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

Licenses/Certification

Current South Carolina occupational therapist assistant licensure is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required before seeing patients.
