Job summary

Monterey Palms Healthcare Center is hiring for an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA). The role offers a salary range of $85,280 - $104,000 with PRN/on-call duties and a sign-on bonus.

The OT/OTA will work within a clinical team to provide treatment, conduct assessments, and support residents in achieving optimal functionality. The position requires an associate degree in Occupational Therapy, California OTA license, and (preferred) one year of clinical experience, with new graduates

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One year of clinical experience preferred.
• Current license to practice as an OTA in California.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Measures muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments to ensure safe discharge with OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
