Lumiere Children's Therapy is looking for an extraordinary Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to work in our interdisciplinary setting. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will provide appropriate therapeutic intervention specific to the age and condition of each patient and carry out the plan of care which is established by an occupational therapist. An OTA is responsible for thoroughly documenting patient treatment sessions and any changes in condition and other pertinent information as required. The successful candidate will be in communication consistently with the supervising occupational therapist to notify the OT of when goals are met and goals and/or the plan of care needs to be updated.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs clerical duties such as managing their schedule, keeping their Central Reach schedule up to date, notifying admin of openings/cancellations/discharges, documenting accurately and keeping track of visit numbers if there is a cap on insurance.
Notifies Team Lead if there is low treatment supplies or new supplies needed.
Knowledge of responsible use of facility equipment, best practices for equipment use and preventative maintenance procedures.
Aware of potential safety hazards and prevention. Able to use a gait belt when appropriate.
A strong ability to multi-task and remain focused and good-humored under pressure and in a busy environment.
Ability to work comfortably with quickly shifting priorities and interruptions.
Be open to feedback from others on occupational therapy team.
Respond to emails daily.
Good time management to manage caseload, keep track of authorizations, and complete notes within 48 hours.
