Job summary

Almaden Health and Rehabilitation Center in California seeks an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to support residents with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues. The OTA will administer treatments, perform tests, and work within an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.

Required is an Associate degree in Occupational Therapy and a California OTA license; one year of clinical experience is preferred, though new graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• California license to practice as Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Conducts tests and measurements for muscle strength, range of motion, and related functions.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Performs home assessments with OT/PT as needed for discharge planning.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
