Job summary

Palm Springs Healthcare Center is hiring an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA). We offer a salary range of $85,280 to $104,000 with PRN/on-call duties. A sign-on bonus is available, along with PTO and referral bonuses.

The OTA will administer treatments for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues, perform assessments of strength and ROM, and participate in an interdisciplinary team to support resident discharge planning and home safety assessments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current California OTA license.
• One year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems.
• Assesses muscle strength, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists patients with tools and treatments for specific needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts home assessments to ensure safe discharge with OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) Duties and Responsibilities Performed within scope of practice and federal guidelines:
• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Participates in an interdisciplinary team of clinicians.
• Assists the patient with tools and treatments for specific patient needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Conducts simulated and/or actual home assessments, as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment, along with the OT/PT as needed.

• ccupational Therapist (OT) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the state of California.
