Job summary

Mercy Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Youngstown is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our inpatient rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. You will support patient care under supervision, document progress, educate families, and help with scheduling and billing while maintaining compliance and safety.

Join a collaborative interdisciplinary team where strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in patient care preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR.
• Strong communication, time management, and clinical documentation skills.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records preferred.
• Near vision acuity for reading equipment and records.
• Must be physically able to lift, move patients.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and post treatment charges to patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, and applicable laws and professional standards.
