Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Schedule: PRN
Overview
Peak Rehabilitation Hospital, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and Duke Health, WakeMed, is dedicated to prioritizing patient well‑being to deliver exceptional care. This role supports rehabilitation services within a nationally recognized health system and academic medical center network.
How You’ll Contribute
- Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
- Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow‑through programs and home exercises.
- Assist with patient scheduling and post treatment charges to patient records daily.
- Document patient care accurately and in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
- Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, and applicable laws and professional standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Associate’s Degree required (Occupational Therapy Assistant).
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments. Proficiency in multiple clinical software systems and rapid learning ability.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Licenses: Licensed and eligible to practice as a COTA in North Carolina.
