Job Responsibilities:
- Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval from the referring physician.
- Treat patients according to the physician’s treatment plan.
- Assist in training Restorative Aides within the nursing department.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants in direct patient care, following state practice laws.
- Communicate patient progress, issues, and plans with supervisors and healthcare team members.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation conferences as needed.
- Conduct in-service training for staff; document evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and recertifications in accordance with state and governmental regulations.
- Record treatment modifications; instruct patients’ families and nursing staff on maintenance and caregiver training for discharge planning.
- Recommend and facilitate ordering necessary durable medical equipment to promote patient independence, such as braces, walkers, canes, and grab bars.
- Report equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy License
