Occupational Therapist Assistant COTA (Healthcare)

We are looking for a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) at Vasona Creek Healthcare!

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop effective treatment plans and obtain approval from the referring physician.
• Treat patients according to the physician’s treatment plan.
• Assist in training Restorative Aides within the nursing department.
• Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants in direct patient care, following state practice laws.
• Communicate patient progress, issues, and plans with supervisors and healthcare team members.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation conferences as needed.
• Conduct in-service training for staff; document evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and recertifications in accordance with state and governmental regulations.
• Record treatment modifications; instruct patients’ families and nursing staff on maintenance and caregiver training for discharge planning.
• Recommend and facilitate ordering necessary durable medical equipment to promote patient independence, such as braces, walkers, canes, and grab bars.
• Report equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapy License
