Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist Assistant to implement and modify treatment plans under the guidance of an occupational therapist. You will monitor patient progress, adjust interventions as needed, and support discharge planning to ensure safe, effective care.

Required: graduation from an accredited OTA program and current state licensure. Preferred: about one year of OTA experience in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapist assistant program.
• Current State Board of Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure.
• One year of occupational therapist assistant experience (preferred).

• Adjusts treatment interventions in response to patient feedback, objective data and observation within the established plan of care.

Works under the direction and supervision of the occupational therapist. The occupational therapist assistant implements selected components of the therapeutic interventions and activities of daily living, obtains data related to the interventions provided, and makes modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient as directed by the occupational therapist or to ensure patient’s safety and comfort. This may include adaptation or modification of the environment or objects within the environment to facilitate engagement and participation.

• Adjusts treatment interventions in response to patient feedback, objective data and observation within the established plan of care. Identifies need for changes in plan of care and communicates with supervising occupational therapist.
• Assists the occupational therapist with managing the established discharge plan throughout treatment.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapist assistant program.
• Current State Board of Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure.

Preferred:

• One year of occupational therapist assistant experience.
