Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA, OTA) in Home Health provides occupational therapy to patients in their homes, aiming to restore their physical abilities. Duties are performed in accordance with policies, procedures, and the established plan of care.

• Follow all state-specific laws governing occupational therapy in home care, adhering to treatment plans set by the supervising OT.
• Implement the plan of care, instruct, and assist patients with evidence-based treatments within the scope of practice and legal regulations.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising OT, nurse, and/or physician. Coordinate care with healthcare team members as appropriate.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members on therapy-related topics within the OTA's scope of practice.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Current OTA licensure in the state of Pennsylvania
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation
