Job summary

Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento is seeking an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and improve quality of life through targeted therapy plans and ongoing evaluations.

You will assess orthopedic, neurological, sensory, and cancer recovery patients, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team while maintaining thorough documentation and delivering motivating care in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited Occupational Therapy degree program and license eligibility or current California OT license within six months.
• Previous experience as an OT or OT student/intern.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assess diverse patient populations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and document thoroughly.
• Provide motivating, high-volume patient care and supervise/educate staff as needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.

Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.

• Provides Effective and Adequate Treatment: Implements effective and adequate treatment following department guidelines

• Patient/Family Education and Training: Addresses patient/family education. Demonstrates a variety of teaching methods. Methods are appropriate to the level of understanding. Education is timely (initiated when patient/family capable of learning) and need is identified with action taken to initiate training

• Leads by example by providing necessary and appropriate treatment plan for support staff/student to perform treatment. Provides appropriate clinical supervision and feedback to support staff/students

Job Requirements

Required:

• Completed an accredited Occupational Therapy degree program and be board eligible and able to obtain California Occupational Therapy license within six (6) months or have already obtained license

• Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapist student/ intern

• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Associaton

Pay Range

$68.90 - $68.90 /hour
