Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California, seeks an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and improve daily living activities. You will assess diverse populations, create treatment plans, and perform evaluations while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

You will document thoroughly and provide motivating care to a high volume of patients. Emphasis is placed on AIDET communications with patients and families, along with effective handoffs

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OT program with a BA/BS.
• Minimum of one year as an OT in physical disabilities settings, preferably acute care or rehab.
• Completion of 6–9 month internship in acute care or rehab unit.
• CA OT license upon hire.
• BLS/CPR upon hire.

Responsibilities

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.

Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.

Answers call bells and other patient requests quickly & graciously Checks-in with team leader to ensure that all unit and patient needs are met.

Job Requirements

Required

• Bachelors Other
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy with a minimum of B.A. or B.S. and
• Minimum of one year of experience as an O.T.R. in physical disabilities setting, preferably in acute care or acute rehabilitation:, upon hire or
• Completion of six to nine months internship in an acute car or acute rehab unit.
• Occupational Therapist: CA, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
