Job summary

Community Hospital East is seeking an Occupational Therapist for Inpatient Rehab Therapy on a part-time schedule. The role includes 4 days per week, 8:00am-4:30pm, with occasional weekends and holidays, in a hospital setting within Community Health Network.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Science in OT, a valid Indiana OT license or temporary permit, and experience in an Acute Care hospital with adults.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited OT program.
• Must have a valid Indiana Occupational Therapist license or temporary permit.
• Previous experience in an Acute Care hospital setting working with adults preferred.
• Knowledge in anatomy/physiology, evaluation and therapy concepts and techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers, patients, families, physicians and others.

Responsibilities

• The Occupational Therapist evaluate, plan, and provides therapy for the disabled patient.
• Establishes and maintains a safe environment conducive to effective team functioning, positive patient outcomes and personal safety.
• You will effectively provide quality service to impaired individuals and communicate effectively with staff, peers, patients, families, physicians, and all internal/external customers.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from and accredited OT program is required
• Must have a valid Indiana Occupational Therapist license or temporary permit
• Previous experience in an Acute Care hospital setting working with adults preferred
• Must be knowledgeable in anatomy/physiology, evaluation and therapy, theoretical concepts and techniques, current materials and technological advances, and new professional trends.
• You will effectively provide quality service to impaired individuals and communicate effectively with staff, peers, patients, families, physicians, and all internal/external customers.
• An ability to incorporate a basic understanding of the behaviors, developmental needs, physical needs, emotional needs, and comfort of the child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient will help.
