Job summary

Corewell Health seeks an Occupational Therapist to assess, plan, organize, administer and evaluate direct patient care in alignment with the physician's treatment plan.

The role requires Michigan licensure as an Occupational Therapist, OTR certification, and BLS, with collaboration across the rehab team for optimal patient outcomes. A sign-on bonus is available up to $15,000, and a full-time schedule is provided at Lakeland Hospital St Joseph.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited therapy program.
• OTR certification, Michigan licensure upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough evaluations to determine rehab potential and establish an individualized treatment plan.
• Administer occupational therapy treatments to maximize functional level per standards and SOPs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient's treatment plan and progress to the referring physician.
• Collaborate with rehab team to ensure high-quality care and continuous improvement of patient experience.

Corewell Health is offering up to $15,000 in sign on bonuses for this opportunity! Assess, plan, organize, administer, document and evaluate direct occupational therapy patient care in accordance with accepted occupational therapy practice and the physician's overall treatment plan.

Essential Functions

Perform a thorough and complete evaluation of patients properly referred according to Michigan law in order to determine the patient's rehab potential and establish an individually based treatment plan. Administer occupational therapy treatments to patients according to professional standards and department standard operating procedure in order to maximize the patient's potential functional level and to achieve treatment goals set in coordination with patient/family, physician & other team members. Maintain and complete accurate documentation, department records and reports for all assigned patients in order to provide a clear record and to communicate patient's treatment plan and progress to the referring physician. Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency to ensure the quality of care. Contribute to the efficient and productive operation of the rehab services. Maintain effective communication with other members of the rehab team regarding occupational therapy programs to ensure understanding and better patient care.
