Job description

Lutheran Social Services (LSS) is a private, non-profit, human service agency providing a variety of services throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Over the years, LSS has grown to become one of the largest human service agencies in the two state area serving more than 125,000 clients annually. We are looking for passionate, mission-driven individuals like you to help provide services including outpatient behavioral health management, international, domestic and special needs adoptions, older adult services, support services for children, youth and families, community corrections programs and support services for adults with disabilities and/or mental health concerns.

Motivated by the compassion of Christ, we help people improve the quality of their lives. Does this describe your personal mission statement? Are you motivated to serve by sharing your talents?

Make a Difference During a Child's Most Important Years

Are you passionate about helping young children reach their fullest potential? As a Birth to Three Occupational Therapist, you will partner with families to support infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities during the critical early years of life. Through coaching, collaboration, and evidence-based interventions, you will empower families to help their children thrive in everyday routines and activities.

What You'll Do

As a valued member of an interdisciplinary early intervention team, you will:

  • Conduct developmental evaluations and assessments to determine program eligibility and service needs.
  • Assess and address functional skills related to self-care, play, adaptive behavior, sensory processing, motor development, and postural control.
  • Collaborate with families to identify priorities and create individualized outcomes that support their child's growth and development.
  • Provide coaching, strategies, and education that build on family strengths and enhance parent-child interactions.
  • Deliver services in natural environments, including homes and community settings, where children learn and grow best.
  • Coordinate care and collaborate with service coordinators, healthcare providers, educators, and community partners.
  • Complete plans of care, documentation, prior authorizations, and other required records in a timely manner.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current Wisconsin Occupational Therapist license.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the service area.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of pediatric occupational therapy experience.
  • Experience supporting infants, toddlers, and families in home or community-based settings.
  • Knowledge of early intervention services and family-centered practices.
Why You'll Love This Role
  • Meaningful work that changes the lives of children and families.
  • Flexible, community-based service delivery.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Opportunity to coach and empower families rather than provide traditional clinic-based therapy.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth opportunities.
Our Commitment

We are committed to providing compassionate, trauma-informed, family-centered services that honor the strengths, culture, and unique needs of every family. We seek professionals who share our mission, demonstrate respect and dignity for all people, and are dedicated to helping children build a strong foundation for lifelong success.
