Job summary

NeuLife Rehabilitation of Michigan is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to help adults with brain injuries improve function and independence through individualized therapy.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with physicians, families, and staff in a supportive, best-practice environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare experience required.
• License/registration as an Occupational Therapist in Michigan.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs occupational therapy assessments, diagnostic tests, skilled treatments, and ongoing evaluation of clients who are receiving services
• Develops a treatment program and establishes goals for improved function
• Documents all findings, plans, interventions, and client progress
• Designs and/or orders appropriate adaptive/assistive devices and/or splints to promote optimal level of functioning
• Advises, consults, and teaches appropriate treatment procedures and supportive activities to clients, family members, and other staff
• Other duties as assigned

Your Role:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for helping persons served improve their functional abilities, independence, and quality of life through individualized occupational therapy interventions tailored to their physical, cognitive, emotional, sensory, and daily living needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs occupational therapy assessments, diagnostic tests, skilled treatments, and ongoing evaluation of clients who are receiving services
• Completes assessments in a timely manner adhering to company policy
• Develops a treatment program and establishes goals for improved function
• Provides assessment findings and goals to assist in developing the client care plan and obtains specific physician orders as needed
• Documents all findings, plans, interventions, and client progressGuides and instructs the client in prescribing therapeutic self-care and creative activities that are directed toward improving independence and physical and cognitive functioning
• Advises, consults, and teaches appropriate treatment procedures and supportive activities to clients, family members, and other staff
• Designs and/or orders appropriate adaptive/assistive devices and/or splints to promote optimal level of functioning
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Insurable driving record
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Occupational Therapy registration or license as required in the state of Michigan
• Minimum of two years experience in healthcare
