Job summary

NeuLife Rehabilitation of Michigan is seeking an Occupational Therapist to help adults with traumatic brain injuries enhance independence and quality of life through individualized therapy. You will perform assessments, design treatment programs, document progress, and collaborate with a compassionate team in a best-practice environment.

The role emphasizes client-centered care, safety, and ongoing evaluation to meet residents’ goals.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an OT license/registration in Michigan.
  • Minimum of two years experience in healthcare.
  • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Performs occupational therapy assessments, diagnostic tests, skilled treatments, and ongoing evaluation of clients who are receiving services.
  • Completes assessments in a timely manner adhering to company policy.
  • Develops a treatment program and establishes goals for improved function.
  • Provides assessment findings and goals to assist in developing the client care plan and obtains specific physician orders as needed.
  • Documents all findings, plans, interventions, and client progress.
  • Guides and instructs the client in prescribing therapeutic self-care and creative activities that are directed toward improving independence and physical and cognitive functioning.
  • Advises, consults, and teaches appropriate treatment procedures and supportive activities to clients, family members, and other staff.
  • Designs and/or orders appropriate adaptive/assistive devices and/or splints to promote optimal level of functioning.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Role:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for helping persons served improve their functional abilities, independence, and quality of life through individualized occupational therapy interventions tailored to their physical, cognitive, emotional, sensory, and daily living needs.

Requirements:


  • Insurable driving record

  • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain

  • Occupational Therapy registration or license as required in the state of Michigan

  • Minimum of two years experience in healthcare
