Job summary

Sterling County Nursing Home in Sterling City, TX is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to develop and implement plans of care for residents and short-term patients.

You will supervise staff, conduct patient screenings, document progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet OT goals. This is a part-time or PRN role with flexible scheduling and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current Texas OT licensure is required.
• Experience in long-term care or rehab settings is preferred.
• Ability to supervise OT staff and coordinate with interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Occupational Therapy plan of care for residents and short-term patients.
• Provide supervision for OT Assistants in delivery of plans of care.
• Assist with patient screenings to identify OT needs.
• Communicate progress and barriers with the interdisciplinary team.
• Complete timely OT documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain rehab gym and treatment area with infection control practices.
• Provide patient, family, and caregiver training on plans of care and follow-up.

Occupational Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the Occupational Therapy plan of care for facility residents and short-term patients.


• Provide supervision, as needed, for staff Occupational Therapy Assistants in delivery of the OT plans of care.


• Assist as needed with patient screenings for the need for Occupational Therapy.


• Communicate progress and any barriers toward OT goals with interdisciplinary team members.


• Complete timely OT documentation in compliance with regulatory, licensing, and payor requirements.


• Assist with maintaining both the rehab gym equipment and treatment area in a safe manner, using good infection prevention methods.


• Provide and document patient, family, and caregiver training regarding each OT patient’s specific plan of care and recommendations for follow up.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
