Job summary

S POTTS AND PROFESSIONALS INC is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat clients in our San Antonio, TX office. You will develop goals and treatment plans, supervise COTAs, and communicate with clients and families while maintaining confidentiality and documentation in line with industry standards.

The role requires a Texas license, CPR certification, and a valid driver's license, under the supervision of the Clinic Administrator.

Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluation and treatment for clients referred for Occupational Therapy. The Occupational Therapist will be proficient in utilizing a variety of assessment tools and therapy techniques and completion of reasonable documentation in keeping with the industry standard of the profession. The Occupational Therapist will implement client care, and all the responsibilities therein, under the supervision of the Clinic Administrator.

The Occupational Therapist will be expected to demonstrate proficient ability in the following areas:

• Evaluation and treatment, utilizing both formal and informal measures, of clients with a variety of disorders.
• Establishment of appropriate recommendations, therapy goals, and treatment plans as a result of evaluation data obtained.
• Provide supervision of company COTAs in compliance with ECPTOTE guidelines.
• Communication and conferencing of information to the client, client family/caregivers, and COTAs as applicable.
• Implementation of appropriate therapy techniques to address therapy goals as determined by the treatment plan.
• Maintenance of client confidentiality in all forms: written, verbal, and electronic; and adherence to client's rights at all times.
• Creation and implementation of daily or home program when appropriate to facilitate clients' progress with respect to goals set in treatment plan.
• Documentation of evaluation results, treatment plans, client status notes, individual visit notes, periodic (monthly) progress reports, and all applicable medical records in accordance with the current company standards and timeframes.
• Conduct continual assessment of current therapy techniques and effectiveness of treatment plans.
• Maintenance of positive and professional communication with clients, client families/caregivers, and the company.
• Consultation with other professionals involved in the client’s care in a manner that is conducive to facilitating the client’s treatment goals.
• Make referrals to other medical professionals or therapists, when in the best interest of the client or client’s family.
• Maintenance of equipment and supplies, both personal and those belonging to the company, in accordance to OSHA standards.
• Maintenance of professional qualifications, continuing education, and quality assurance activities.
• Utilization of appropriate community resources for client needs, and communication of relevant issues to all involved professionals.
• Efficient utilization of company resources.
• Report any noted violations of the company’s policies and procedures to the Administrator immediately.

Qualifications

The Occupational Therapist will have completed a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy and will be licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Texas by the Executive Committee of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE). The Occupational Therapist will comply with all rules and regulations as stipulated by the ECPTOTE and will inform the Administrator of any violations observed.
