Job summary

Interim HealthCare Inc. in Redding, CA is hiring a Home Health Occupational Therapist to support patients at home. The role emphasizes 1:1 therapist-to-patient care, flexibility, and work-life balance while delivering high-quality OT services according to the plan of care.

You will assess patients, develop goals, supervise activities, and educate families. CA licensure, 1+ year preferred, and ability to pass background checks and TB tests are required for this rewarding, patient-centered

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and CA OT license required.
• Minimum of one year of occupational therapy experience preferred, ideally in home healthcare.
• Ability to pass Background Check, Physical, Drug Screen and TB Test.
• Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations.
• Good clinical judgement, strong interpersonal skills, resourceful and compassionate.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks at home.
• Collaborate with home health team (RN, LVN, CNA, HHA, PT, SLP) per plan of care and patient goals.
• Assess patient, observe deficits, establish therapy goals and document progress.
• Assist patient with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination.
• Suggest adaptive equipment to improve independence and safety at home.
• Assess fall risks and implement home safety strategies.
• Educate patient and family on plan of care, exercises, goals and self-care.

20 Visits Per Week

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-5p

As a Home Health Occupational Therapist, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:

• Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks due to an illness or injury
• Work as part of a home health team which may include an RN, LVN, CNA, HHA, PT and SLP, focused on the patient's plan of care and personal goals
• Assess patient, observe deficits, establish therapy goals and document progress
• Assist patient with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination
• Suggest adaptive equipment such as grab bars and shower chairs to provide added support
• Assess fall risks and introduce strategies to improve home safety
• Educate patient and family on plan of care, exercises, goals and self-care

A few must-haves for Home Health Occupational Therapists:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and active OT license in CA
• Minimum of one (1) year of occupational therapy experience preferred, ideally in home healthcare
• Ability to pass a Background Check, Physical, Drug Screen and TB Test
• Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
