Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OT principles, techniques, and modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine OT needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve daily functioning.
• Use therapies and modalities to improve motor skills, coordination, and range of motion.
• Educate patients and families on activities of daily living.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and PTs for coordinated care.
• Document progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Provide guidance to OT Assistants and support staff.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday (no weekend rotation)

Location: 130-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at a 130-bed Skilled Nursing Facility. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with patients of all ages to help them improve their ability to perform daily living and work activities. Your role will be crucial in helping our patients regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

- Evaluate patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to determine their occupational therapy needs.

- Develop individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve their goals and improve their daily functioning.

- Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities, such as exercise, adaptive equipment, and activities, to help patients improve their motor skills, coordination, and range of motion.

- Educate patients and their families on how to safely and effectively perform activities of daily living.

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and physical therapists, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated treatment plan.

- Document patient progress and communicate regularly with the healthcare team to adjust treatment plans as needed.

- Provide guidance and support to Occupational Therapy Assistants and other support staff.
