Job summary

Indiana Fitness Works Inc. seeks a licensed Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) to join our team in Columbus, Indiana.

You will evaluate patients within 24 hours of referral, plan and supervise treatment with the COTA, communicate with the referring physician and rehab team, and document progress; home health experience is preferred but not required.

Full-time employment may include benefits; Covid-19 vaccination is required or a medical/religious exemption accepted where allowed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Evidence of continuing education encouraged; AOTA membership encouraged.
• Must be licensed to practice OT in Indiana.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the patient within 24 hours of written referral.
• Plan, administer and supervise the COTA in the treatment plan.
• Communicate with the referring physician and rehab team about the patient’s total treatment program.
• Maintain an accurate daily record of treatments.
• PRN work as needed.

Job description

We are seeking a licensed Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) to work in Columbus, Indiana.

Requirements for a Registered Occupational Therapist:

• Be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy college
• Display evidence of interest in continued education within the profession and is encouraged to be a member of the American Occupational Therapy Organization (AOTA)
• Must be licensed in the State of Indiana to practice OT
• May be responsible for supervising/training personnel such as COTA
• CPR Certified or willing to obtain certification
• Previous experience in home health or in a health care setting is recommended but not required

Responsibilities for a Registered Occupational Therapist:

• Follow receipt of a doctor’s referral, the therapist is responsible for evaluating the patient within 24 hours of written referral
• Recommend programs will be patient specific to diagnosis according to the type/age of patient under program
• After evaluating the patient, the therapist is responsible for planning, administering and supervising the COTA in an appropriate treatment plan
• Will communicate with the referring physician and member of the rehabilitation team regarding the patient’s total treatment program.
• Will maintain an accurate daily record of treatments given to patients
