Job summary

UPMC in Pittsburgh seeks an occupational therapist to provide assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in our Rehabilitation Institute. The role includes serving as a clinical resource for staff and collaborating with an academic partner for instructional services.

The position involves maintaining documentation, coordinating with physicians, and supporting research activities within the Rehabilitation Institute.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation for all occupational therapy services, including assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.
• Co-sign occupational therapy assistant documentation biweekly.
• Communicate patient's status to referring physicians and healthcare team members.
• Complete charge and statistical information to reflect services rendered.
• Schedule patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
• Provide verbal/written home instructions to patients and/or family members.
• Supervise clinical education programs for students from various universities.
• Maintain professional license through continuing education and professional development.
• Perform and supervise occupational therapy assessments, treatments, and plan adjustments.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs

Job description

Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.
