Job summary

UPMC Rehabilitation Institute is seeking an occupational therapist to provide assessment and treatment in a specialty area, serving as a clinical resource and collaborating with academic partners.

This casual position requires two weekend shifts monthly, maintains documentation, co-signs OT assistant notes, communicates with physicians, schedules patients, provides home instructions, and supervises student education while keeping license current.

Qualifications

• Maintain documentation for all occupational therapy services including assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries.
• Co-sign occupational therapy assistant documentation biweekly.
• Communicate patient's status to referring physicians and healthcare team members.
• Maintain professional license through continuing education and professional development.
• Supervise clinical education programs for students from various universities.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise occupational therapy assessments, treatments, and plan adjustments.
• Participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs

Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.

This is a casual position that will require two weekend shifts each month.
