Job summary

Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, CA seeks an Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and quality of life. You will assess diverse patients, develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and documenting thoroughly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (B.A./B.S.)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an OT registered (OTR) in physical disabilities, preferably in acute care or acute rehabilitation
• Completion of six to nine months internship in an acute care or acute rehab unit
• CA license to practice occupational therapy, upon hire
• BLS/CPR certification upon hire

Responsibilities

• Assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.) and develop treatment plans.
• Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations; document thoroughly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and promote teamwork in rehabilitation.
• Utilize the AIDET communication framework with patients and families; ensure explanations and empathy.
• Provide motivating, high-volume patient care; stay organized and personable.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy with a minimum of B.A. or B.S. and
• Minimum of one year of experience as an O.T.R. in physical disabilities setting, preferably in acute care or acute rehabilitation:, upon hire or
• Completion of six to nine months internship in an acute car or acute rehab unit.

• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
