Job summary

Applied ABC in New York is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support students in a school-based setting. You will assess needs related to fine motor, sensory processing, self-care and school activities, and deliver therapy aligned with IEP goals to help children reach their potential.

You will collaborate with teachers, families, and IEP teams, develop individualized plans, monitor progress, and document outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Current NY state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• State-required certifications as applicable.
• Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments for fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and school activities.
• Develop and implement IEP-aligned treatment plans.
• Provide direct and consultative OT services to students.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support goals.

Who We're Looking For

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in a school-based setting. The OT will play a vital role in helping students develop the skills necessary for success in school and daily life by providing therapy services aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and school-related functional activities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with IEP teams.
• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students.
• Monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to support student goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Additional state-required certifications
• Experience in a school setting is preferred, but not required
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
