Job summary

The Bachrach Group in New York, NY is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist to support students' participation in the educational environment by addressing fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, visual-motor integration, and other functional skills.

The OT works collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students achieve their academic and developmental goals in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students to identify OT needs related to school performance.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP or 504 goals.
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services in individual and group settings.
  • Support students with fine motor skills, handwriting, sensory regulation, self-care, and adaptive functioning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Recommend and support the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Educate school staff and families on strategies to support student independence and participation.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and best practices in school-based occupational therapy.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
