About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients’ physical, cognitive, sensory, and functional abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and hygiene to promote independence.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers to coordinate care plans effectively.
• Support discharge planning by preparing clients for transition back home or to other care settings through skill development and resource linkage.
• Document clinical findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) and maintain comprehensive medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide specialized interventions for populations such as children with autism spectrum disorders, individuals in acute care or ICU settings, geriatrics, pediatrics, and those requiring post-acute or skilled nursing facility care.
• Educate clients and their families on therapeutic activities and strategies to maximize functional outcomes at home or school environments.
• Implement occupational therapy programs that incorporate evidence-based practices aligned with physiology and anatomy knowledge.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in occupational therapy techniques and neurodevelopmental disorder support strategies.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various age groups including pediatrics, geriatrics, and neurodevelopmental conditions like autism spectrum disorders.
• Expertise in conducting occupational therapy assessments and developing effective treatment plans for diverse populations.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and clinical documentation standards.
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and implementing occupational therapy programs that promote independence.
• Experience working within inpatient settings such as hospitals or skilled nursing facilities as well as outpatient clinics or school environments.
• Ability to manage medical documentation efficiently using electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
• Excellent client communication skills paired with the ability to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams.
• Familiarity with case management processes including discharge planning and resource coordination for patients transitioning between care settings.
• Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy techniques and experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs.
• Competence in supporting clients through evidence-based practice approaches tailored to neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder support strategies.
