Job summary

Lad Lake seeks an Occupational Therapist to join an integrative team providing services to children and families. You will design and implement comprehensive treatment plans and deliver therapy across individuals, groups, and families, aligned with the treatment goals and plan.

Responsibilities include weekly meetings, crisis response, and thorough documentation. Travel and some evening hours are required as part of patient-centered care in a community-based setting.

Qualifications

• Current OT license in Wisconsin DSPS; NBCOT certification required for licensure.
• Knowledge of normal and developmental behavior in children and adolescents; evidence-based OT practices.
• Ability to work with children, adolescents, and their families; guide a multidisciplinary team toward common goals.
• Willingness to travel and some evening hours required.

Responsibilities

• Assess family and child’s treatment needs using formal and informal assessments.
• Meet with clients weekly or as identified by client, family, and/or team.
• Provide occupational therapy to individuals, groups, or families per treatment plan.
• Advocate for the family through psychoeducation and collaboration.
• Respond promptly to crises and document progress clearly.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and access them as needed.
• Present cases in court, staff, and other meetings as necessary.
• Complete assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries promptly.
• Communicate effectively with team members, purchasers, and consultants.

• Assess family and child's treatment needs utilizing formal and informal/functional assessments.
• Meeting with clients every week or as identified by client, family, and/or team.
• Provides occupational therapy to individuals, groups, and/or families at a frequency consistent with the treatment plan.
• Acts as an advocate for the family providing psychoeducation and collaboration.
• Quickly and effectively responds to crisis.
• Documents clinical activities and case progress in a timely, thorough, and clearly written manner.
• Effectively presents cases in court, staff, and other meetings as necessary.
• Effectively communicates clinical and other information about the family to team members, purchasers, and consultants.
• Completes initial assessment, initial treatment plan, ongoing treatment plans, and discharge summaries promptly that clearly describe the course of treatment.
• Maintains knowledge of community resources and can access them when necessary.
• Willingness to travel and some evening hours required.

Qualifications And Experience

Education/Training: Current Occupational Therapy License through Wisconsin DSPS; Certification by NBCOT (required for licensure).
Skills: Demonstrable knowledge of normal and pathological child and adolescent development behavior. Demonstrable knowledge of OT evidence-based and current best practice. A proven ability to work with children and adolescents and their families. A demonstrable ability to guide and direct the treatment efforts of a multidisciplinary team toward a common treatment goal. Ability to manage a flexible schedule. Willingness to travel and some evening hours required.
