Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current state license/certification as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Proven experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a geriatric or senior living setting.
  • Solid understanding of occupational therapy principles, assessments, and interventions, with expertise in treating seniors.
  • Excellent knowledge of common age-related conditions, such as arthritis, dementia, stroke, and mobility challenges, and ability to adapt therapy plans accordingly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Compassion, patience, and empathy to work effectively with older adults.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly articulate therapy plans, progress, and recommendations.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.

  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in occupational therapy practices, senior care policies, and relevant regulations, applying this knowledge to enhance the quality of care provided.
