Job summary

InReach Rehab is seeking a flexible Occupational Therapist (OT) at Bayou Bend Hospital in Franklin, LA. This full-time or part-time position offers the opportunity to help patients regain independence and improve daily function in a collaborative rural setting.

The role includes supervising COTAs, developing individualized treatment plans, and contributing to a patient-centered care team. Louisiana license or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program (or anticipated graduation).
• Current Louisiana OT license or eligibility for licensure upon graduation.
• Strong clinical reasoning and evaluation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in rural healthcare or passion for rural communities.
• Comfort supervising and collaborating with COTAs.
• Strong documentation and time-management skills.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to determine functional needs, goals, and treatment priorities.
• Develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence, safety, and daily function.
• Implement evidence-based interventions to improve ADLs, IADLs, strength, coordination, cognition, and mobility.
• Fabricate or recommend adaptive equipment and educate patients and caregivers on its use.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Supervise and mentor COTAs while directing patient treatment plans, as appropriate.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety strategies, and functional independence.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development.
