Job summary

InReach Rehab is seeking a flexible Occupational Therapist (or COTA) to join Brown County Hospital in Ainsworth, Nebraska. The role offers either full-time or part-time opportunities in a rural healthcare setting, with a collaborative team and a focus on helping patients regain independence.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Nebraska OT license or eligibility upon graduation.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and evaluation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and functional outcomes.
  • Experience in rural healthcare or interest in serving rural communities.
  • Comfort supervising and collaborating with COTAs.
  • Strong documentation and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluations to determine patient needs, goals, and functional capabilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans focused on independence, safety, and daily activity performance.
  • Implement interventions addressing ADLs, IADLs, strength, coordination, cognition, and mobility.
  • Fabricate, fit, or recommend adaptive equipment with training for patient/caregivers.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries timely and accurately.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Supervise and mentor COTAs and guide their contributions to treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust interventions to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on strategies, home programs, and safety practices.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to a positive team culture.
