Hiring Salary Range: $91,998.40 - $105,798.16

Full Salary Range: $91,998.40 - $119,597.92

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Early Intervention Occupation Therapist to provide essential services to infants and toddlers in Snohomish County, focusing on gross and fine motor development and sensory processing. The ideal candidate will utilize an interactive parent-coaching model to empower families in supporting their child's learning and development. Services will be delivered in family homes or typical community settings to enhance the child's participation in daily routines. The specialist will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Provide early intervention services to infants and toddlers, focusing on motor development and sensory processing.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive support for each child and family.
  • Monitor and assess child progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to meet individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress made.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers, particularly in early intervention settings.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles, particularly in motor skills and sensory processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and coach parents effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work in various settings, including family homes and community environments.
Requirements
  • Communicate effectively with Director, Lead, Billing Administrator and FRC’s.
  • Assess motor and adaptive skills in infants and young children with or at risk for developmental disabilities and complete written assessment summary. Administer evaluations for ESIT eligibility and complete written report within 5 workdays.
  • Knowledge of current ICD coding for insurance billing.
  • Communicate results of assessment and recommendations to family/caregivers, multi-disciplinary team members as well as other medical, educational and social service professionals
  • Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) promoting parent-directed priorities and outcomes.
  • Schedule home visits with families and maintain list of appointments in Outlook calendar and on agency server.
  • Provide 50-minute treatment sessions, through both direct therapy and parent coaching, and produce written documentation in the form of a SOAP note within 24 hours of each session.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices in occupational or physical therapy and early intervention as well as Sherwood Community Services policy and procedure.
  • Participate in continuing education activities. Remain current in training requirements as required to maintain licensure as well as meet requirements of agency contracts with DDA, insurance & ESIT.
  • Check and respond to email daily (scheduled working days) and respond accordingly. Listen to voice mail messages at least twice per working day. Make arrangements with program director for other duties when caseload permits.
  • Attend agency and team meetings as required by Director.
  • Demonstrate basic computer competency; or assume responsibility for taking classes in order to gain mandatory competency.
