Job summary

Kalkaska Memorial Health Center (KMHC) in Kalkaska, MI is seeking an Occupational Therapist to improve patients' abilities through goal-oriented therapy. The role evaluates task performance, plans and implements rehab programs, and collaborates with physicians.

Home services may be provided; travel to patient homes as needed. Licensure in Michigan, NBCOT certification, and BLS are required; hand therapy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
• Previous Experience in Hand Therapy required.
• Certification in Hand Therapy preferred.
• Licensure with the State of Michigan.
• Possesses and maintains BLS certification to meet department/program protocol.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates task performance and plans rehab programs to restore patient abilities.
• Provides consultation to physicians regarding appropriateness of referral to occupational therapy; documents treatment and progress for third party payors.
• Educates the patient and family regarding occupational therapy treatment procedures.
• Supervises assistants, aides and volunteers; participates in projects and committees.
• For home services, may travel to the patient’s home to render services.
