Job summary

Veranda Rehabilitation and Care Center in Harlingen, TX, seeks a Full Time Occupational Therapist for its in-house rehab program. The OT will perform screening and evaluation, develop care plans, and deliver rehabilitative treatments aligned with regulatory standards to support geriatric patients’ recovery.

Applicants must hold an OT license and are welcomed at all experience levels, including new graduates.

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license required (TX).
• Open to OTs at all experience levels; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and wounds, and develop care plans.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatments per regulatory standards.
• Assist with standing, walking, lifting, transferring, and repositioning as part of daily duties.
• Administer procedures including manual techniques, exercises, modalities, devices, and wound care.
• Provide counseling to patients and families regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries in compliance with regulations.

VERANDA REHABILITATION AND CARE CENTER- HARLINGEN, TX

Veranda Rehabilitation and Care Center in Harlingen, TX, is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric services provided. We can offer a stable and fun in-house therapy team to work with as well as excellent programs serving our geriatric clientele in their journey to recovery. We are currently seeking aFull Time Occupational Therapistfor our in-house rehab program!

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapist license is required.
• Open to OTs at all experience levels. New Grads are welcome!
