Alta Vista Rehabilitation & Healthcare is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist in Brownsville, TX to join our in-house therapy team. The OT will screen, evaluate, and treat patients with functional impairments and wound care needs, and will prepare discharge summaries in line with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care; develop care plans.

• Administer procedures as part of the rehab plan: manual techniques, exercises, modalities, wound care.
• Provide counseling to patients, families, and other providers about physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory requirements.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - PRN

Alta Vista Rehabilitation & Healthcare is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric outpatient services provided. We are seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to join our in-house therapy team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct effective screening and evaluation of patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, developing appropriate care plans adhering to regulatory and clinical standards.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care, in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
• The role involves regular standing and walking throughout the facility and occasional lifting, transferring, and repositioning of patients and equipment. Physical demands vary throughout the day based on patient care needs.
• Administer various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding physical disorders.
• Generate comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.

Qualifications

• Occupational Therapist license is required.
• Open to Occupational Therapists at all experience levels. New Grads are welcome!
