Job summary

McLaren is seeking an occupational therapist to assess ADL/IADL deficits and develop individualized plans centered on patient goals. You may adapt the environment or objects to promote participation.

Duties include patient evaluations, creating and implementing plans, ongoing reassessment, initiating discharge planning, and supervising staff in line with state laws. This role requires collaboration with the care team and a compassionate approach to restore independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Current OT licensure by state board.
• BLS certification.
• Preferred: 1 year of occupational therapy experience.

Job description

Position Summary:

The occupational therapist accurately assesses and identifies deficits in a patient’s ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) relative to physical, cognitive, and/or psychological impairments. Develops an individualized treatment plan with patient-centered goals that will be accomplished by therapeutic interventions and the use of ADLs. This may include adaptation or modification of the environment or objects within the environment to facilitate engagement and participation.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Performs patient evaluations by establishing an occupational profile, analyzing occupational performance and collaborating with the patient to establish goals geared toward the experiences, values, priorities, and desired outcomes of the client. This process may also include performing relevant systems review and selecting and administering specific tests and measures to obtain data.




2. Establishes an individualized plan of care and selects therapeutic interventions that address the specific impairments identified in the evaluation and in accordance with physician orders.




3. Conducts ongoing reassessment of the patient and their response to treatment.




4. Initiates and manages the discharge plan beginning at the first visit and continuing throughout treatment.




5. Supervises and delegates to ancillary staff and students consistent with state laws and department policy.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited program of occupational therapy.


• Current State Board of Occupational Therapy licensure.


• BLS certification.

Preferred:

• One (1) year of occupational therapist experience.
