Job summary

AVIR at Pebble Creek in El Paso, TX is seeking a Per Diem Occupational Therapist to join our in-house rehabilitation team. You will evaluate patients, design individualized OT plans, and deliver skilled therapy on a flexible schedule to support daily living independence.

This role emphasizes collaboration with nursing, therapists, and physicians in a subacute setting, safety-focused care, and thorough documentation to ensure quality outcomes for our residents.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Texas OT license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain as required.
• Previous experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
• Provide skilled OT services based on physician orders and patient needs.
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve functional mobility, strength, coordination, and independence with activities of daily living.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, progress, and discharge recommendations.
• Collaborate with nursing, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety, adaptive equipment, and home programs.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and applicable regulations.
